Our focus for the future
Despite the recent changes, our commitment to enhancing the lives of members and the community remains our priority. The sale of our IGA Supermarkets included a 12-year lease agreement with Ritchies for the Wauchope IGA site, ensuring a steady income stream for the Co-op.
Further, the lease agreement with Ritchies means the increased store performance leads to higher lease payments, directly contributing to the Co-op’s financial sustainability. At Sovereign Place IGA, we have negotiated terms so that as the store’s performance improves, our lease obligations decrease—another way your continued support directly benefits the Co-op.
Our priorities for the future:
- Strengthening our remaining businesses –including Bulk Fuel, Cedar and Bolwarra Service Stations, The Bottle-O, and Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
- Improving internal systems and processes to ensure efficiency.
- Restructuring our business to align with current and future needs.
- Applying conservative financial management to maximise the value of the supermarket sale and build a stable future.
- Building on our community partnerships to expand the range of Member Benefits.
